Day 1: Transfer to Akagera National Park

Morning departure after breakfast, embark on a 2 and half-hour drive to Akagera National Park enjoying the scenic drive. Along the drive you have a possible stopover for stretching/bathroom/coffee at Imigongo Art Café. On arrival in Akagera National Park, you will have a short briefing at the park office/sign in before you head to your lodge for an early check in/lunch. In the afternoon you will drive out for a short game drive we expect to see giraffes, zebras, hippos, crocodiles, different antelopes, lions, and primates like baboons among many others, not forgetting the beautiful landscape and birdlife of Akagera National Park Later in the evening you can go for an optional sunset boat cruise on Lake Ihema or an evening game drive.

Overnight: Akagera Game Lodge, Ruzizi Tented Lodge, Karenge Bush Camp and Magashi Camp.

Day 2: Akagera – Full day Game Drive

Early morning full game drive. In the morning, you will set off for a full game drive to the northern part of the park/plains of Akagera where you will have a chance to see antelopes, giraffes, elephants, buffalos, bush bucks, lions, leopards, among others. A picnic packed lunch in the plains of Kilala or Muhana and later drive back to the lodge where you have a chance to spot what you missed. Later check in at the lodge, evening at leisure.

Overnight: Akagera Game Lodge, Ruzizi Tented Lodge, Karenge Bush Camp and Magashi Camp.

Day 3: Akagera National Park

Early morning game drive in the Kilala plain to try our luck on some hyena and cat sightings. Head back to the lodge for a proper breakfast then head back for a full drive to the Muhana plains and later Kilala plain the evening.

Enjoy a sundowner in Kilala.

Overnight: Akagera Game Lodge, Ruzizi Tented Lodge, Karenge Bush Camp and Magashi Camp.

Day 4: Akagera - Transfer to Kigali

A quick coffee before we embark on a morning drive in Kilala, try our best of luck before we head back to the lodge check out and later depart for Kigali.
